KoAm Member Schools
KoAm member schools play the most pivotal role in our student exchange programs. They recognize the benefit of bringing a different part of the world into their classrooms where the students may develop new perspectives about our global community. They value and share the mission and goals of our student exchange program and create a classroom environment suitable for experiencing international friendship and learning.
A KoAm Member School:
- Is a private school that is approved under SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) by U.S. Department of Homeland Security to enroll foreign students*
- Offers mainstay curriculum and generally accepted American education;Helps in recruiting host families among its school families and staff;
- Gives host family references to KoAm if it determines the family is suitable for the program;
- Assists KoAm in making decisions with regard to placing exchange students in the school;
- Places only one KoAm exchange student in a class with no other Korean speaking student present (depending on the situation);
- Helps to improve KoAm programs by providing suggestions and feedback to KoAm's head office..
Just like regular students, KoAm students pay normal tuition, fees, and all personal expenses necessary to attend the schools. All students bring healthcare history, immunization record, and medical insurance so that they may participate in extracurricular activities.
Throughout the whole time a school is involved in our programs, KoAm is available to provide assistance and support in every step to ensure a successful outcome of our exchange program.
